Re-doing My Junk Hip Quiver

Hey!
This post is going to show you how I re-did the quiver that came with my bow. The one that came with it was a piece of junk! It was suppose to hook onto your belt and hold your arrows, but when I put my arrows in and hooked it on, they slowly tipped forward and crash!!! They all fell out! No way that was going to work for me! I have no clue why they even sell them! Anyway, I hated it and didn’t feel like spending any money for a better one. I looked online but didn’t find any helpful tutorials for my situation.
So I decided to turn my junky hip quiver into a back quiver. It turned out better then I thought it was going to.
~~~~~~~~~~
This is what my quiver looked like before I re-did it. Mine didn’t come with anything solid on the inside to keep it open and is black instead of gray; but it had the same hook that attaches to the waist.
Things you will need:
An old belt that you will never again need to hold up your pants.
Needle and thread.
An empty duct tape roll.
Some stuff you can use to take apart the belt...just use what you have.
Something sharp.
A sizzors.
A lighter.
Safety pins.
Ok, so I started my quiver by sewing the end of my belt to the top back of the quiver.
It’s kinda hard to sew through leather...I would recommend sewing through the places that the belt has already been sewn through.
To hold the opening open I put a duct tape skeleton on the inside. My opening was too small to fit the roll so I just cut the roll down to size.
I detached the buckle from the end of the belt...do it however it works...Then I cut the strap that the quiver came with. I cut it off all the way at the top but left maybe five inches on the bottom. Then I poked a hole in the strap and put on my belt buckle.
I attached it with safety pins... I didn’t know if it was going to work so I used safety pins for a test. It worked so well that I didn’t sew it:)
Then I burned the end with a torch so that it wouldn’t fray.
I poked holes on the other end of the belt with that sharp object. I had a sharp pokey thing on one of my knives.
For some reason I wanted to make a pouch for my quiver so that I could carry stuff. I can’t imagine that I would have to explain what I did... I’m a terrible sewer. If I can do it you can! Then I just sewed the pouch to the front of the quiver. I have some bandages, matches, and a tinny little knife that some friends gave me.
Done!
To put it on just put it across your back and buckle it up nice and tight.
I hope that some day a girl, juts as odd as I am, looking for a way to fix a junk quiver, stumbles upon this blog post and finds it helpful:)
I hope you have a great rest to of the weekend.
